An Inkwenkwezi Wedding | Nicky & Björn

Four days into his work transfer from Johannesburg Björn met Nicky at Crossfit. They soon realized how much they have in common and that they shared the same dark sense of humor. Their timing, however, was off as Nicky was already in a relationship, and so, Björn ,ever being the gentleman, backed off. As fate would have it that relationship was not meant to last making way for this perfectly fit two to develop their relationship. Björn says “its just amazing with this woman and I love her very much.” Awww! Having never left South Africa Nicky was swept away on a trip to Germany and France. He wanted her to see his home Hamburg, Germany. But he wanted more for her so he booked a couple of days in Paris as well. It was there, on top of the Eiffel Tower, that he proposed to a very surprised Nicky. A perfect moment! I met this fantastically inked, out of the box couple at the Bridal Fair earlier this year. Infact, the first thing I said was “Omw I love your tattoos!!” I invited them to have a seat and we got to chatting about them, not even chatting about weddings yet. Hours later – I hadn’t even packed up at the end of the day when I got an email from them saying that they wouldn’t want anyone else to document their day. Not just because they enjoyed my work but also because I made them feel welcome, that they felt so comfortable chatting to me! For me that’s a huge YAY! Their intimate wedding took place at Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve where Björn surprised Nicky with elephant interaction knowing just how much she loves animals. The joy on her face was priceless! Not to mention one of the elephants really wanted to eat the bouquet!! The reception was at a location that required a 20 minute game drive to reach where they were met my family and close friends to celebrate.
