I met Daryl & Reo a few days before the wedding. Usually I like to meet up sometime before the wedding and build a relationship with my clients so that they’re more comfortable in front of the camera on their Wedding Day. But this issue did not present itself with this couple. They were fun loving and easy to photography. I asked Reo to give me a little write up on how they met… here is in her own words…
“I was on a graduate programme for Standard bank in 2010 and Daryl was working in the Call Center for standard bank, my facilitator at the call centre had asked us to partner up with consultants in the call centre to listen in on how they service our customers, it was fate as I was not supposed to be on that rotation and was supposed to be doing my training at the call centre across town but everything went wrong that morning and I boarded the wrong bus and ended up on a rotation in the call centre that Daryl was based in.
I had met his friend the day before and as I was choosing my candidate I started speaking to his friend and as the facilitator called me up to place me next to someone I didn’t particularly want to sit next to I just sat down on the first chair and without looking gave my headsets to the person next to me and asked them to plug me in, the person next to me replied “you could say please” and when I looked up I saw Daryl and that day I fell in love as he made me laugh until I cried. He claims I had a full bush of hair and could hardly see past it as he offered me endless amounts of jelly tots.
The following day I went right back to him and he plugged in my headsets and we carried on as if we had known each other all our lives.
That was the Wednesday and Thursday, Friday I sent him and email telling him how much I enjoyed spending the two days with him and he then asked for my number and I gave in the following day he called me and we went on our first date to the drive in(our special place) and the rest as they say is history.
That’s how I remember it and I don’t think Daryl will disagree.”
Sweet story right!? I’m a sucker for love stories. Reony’s make up was done by Lezaan Mali. Hair by Lee-Anne Wood. Dress by Gene. Decor and Flowers by Annette Eastrace. Venue and Catering by the ICC.
